Rod started working at Kennebec Telephone Co., Inc. in 1976 as a part-time employee. He bought the company from Delores Johnstone in 1998. Through his years of service the company has expanded with its different divisions: Kennebec CATV (2001),
KTC Construction (2001), PowerCom Electric (2002), Charley’s Welding and Auto Repair (2009), Technology and Communications Specialists (TCS) (2010), Chamberlain NAPA (2013), and PowerCom Electric in Chamberlain (2018).
Matt has been with KTCI since 1988. He started as part-time working through high school and then started full-time with the construction division, eventually becoming Plant Manager and now Assistant Manager.
Chris graduated from USD with a degree in Business. He began employment with KTCI in 2008 as office & administrative support specialist and in 2013 became Office Manager.
In 1996, Trusty acquired his degree in Telecommunications from Mitchell Technical Institute. He worked at two other Telecom companies before returning to Kennebec
and joining KTCI in June 2004.
Central Office & Plant Manager
In 2013, Veronica came to work for Kennebec Telephone. Veronica has worked at KTCI as a NAPA Specialist, Purchasing Coordinator, an Administrative Assistant, and now using her knowledge from all the areas she has worked, makes her an excellent Marketing Director.
Tiarra worked part-time at KTCI starting in June 2003 and in 2013 took on full time role as CSR.
Crystal has worked at various occupations using her creativity. In 2007 she joined the KTCI team as a CSR and incorporated her creativity helping out & later achieving the
title as marketing assistant.
Joan grew up in the business atmosphere and worked several years in a family business before she began at KTCI in
Cherry started her career at KTC in July 2001. Before entering her current title, Cherry worked in the front office as a Customer Accounts Rep.

Haley is currently taking online classes as she works part-time as a customer account representative. She will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Black Hills State University and at that time will become full time at KTCI.

Debbie graduated from USD with a business degree. She worked in the business field until coming to work at KTC in 2010.
Office & Administrative Support
Jason graduated from MTI with a degree in Telecommunications. He has been working as a computer technician since he started in 2005 continually acquiring knowledge in his field.
Devan started in 2016 as a part-time employee. He graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute in May 2019 and returned to KTC to work full-time.
Jairo started at KTCI as a combination technician in June 2019 after acquiring his associate’s degree in Telecommunications.
Dennis started as a combination technician in May 2019. His past experience has helped him land his current role at KTCI.
Heidi started as a part-time employee in 2018.
Ike became a full-time KTCI Construction worker in November 2003. He made his transition and became inventory assistant, now he holds the title of Purchasing Co. Coordinator.
In 2004, Jake graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. He has worked different jobs using his degree before coming to work for KTC Construction in August 2014.
In 2004, Justin graduated from South East Technical Institute as a Heavy Equipment Operator and returned back to Kennebec to immediately start full-time at KTC.
Chris came to work at KTCI in August 2018 to join the KTC Construction crew.
Robert was hired on the KTC Construction crew in September 2016. His knowledge of machinery makes him a good asset to the team.
Chaz started working at KTCI in July 2001. He attended MTI and graduated in 2009 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (Electrical) and came to work for PowerCom, a division of KTCI.
In 2008, Trent started at Shep’s Electric in Chamberlain as an electrician. When KTCI purchased Shep’s Electric in April 2018, Trent came along and continues to help with our customers electrical needs in Chamberlain. In addition he also helps with safety and at the warehouse
In 2013, Mike graduated from MTI with a degree in Applied Science and went to work for Shep’s Electric up graduating. When KTCI purchased Shep’s Electric in April 2018, Mike came along and helps with our customers electrical needs in Chamberlain.
Josh graduated from MTI with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (electrical). He worked for DeYoung Electric, LLC in Redfield before coming to work for KTCI in February 2018.
Jake started as a part-time employee while still in high school in 2010. After graduating in May, he worked for KTC Construction as a Combination Technician. He then attended MTI, graduating in 2014 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science (electrical) and returned to work full-time with PowerCom.
Hayden worked part-time for the PowerCom division of KTCI while attending MTI to obtain his degree in Electrical. After he graduated, he immediately started working full-time at KTCI in May 2017.
Samantha, a young veteran, became a NAPA Specialists at Charley’s Welding & Auto in October 2018 and enjoys providing customer service to customers.

Jordon started in 2016 as a part-time employee and works when she can to earn money for college.
Lee worked at Wilrodt Motor Co. for 32 years before coming to work at Charley’s Welding & Auto in August 2019.
Jordan has always had an invested interest in cars and mechanics which led him to start working at KTCI right out of high school. He became full-time in 2011.
Ronnie gained automotive experience while working with his father at their family business as he was growing up. He continued working at “Pickner Bussing” over the years until he joined the Charley’s Auto team in January 2002.
Besides his prior parts experience with John Deer, John worked for George Martin at the NAPA store even before KTCI purchased it from George in July 2013. As a KTCI employee, John continues to serve the Chamberlain NAPA customers.

Since March 2019, Gary serves the Chamberlain NAPA customers with his friendly smile and assists them with any questions they may have.

Corbin started at KTC in August 2019 as the buildings and grounds supervisor. He worked for several years in the mines in North Dakota before deciding it was time to move closer to “home” to be near family.

A few years after his retirement from the SD State Highway Department, Larry started part-time in June 2019 as part of the construction crew at KTCI.
Stan has been working part-time for KTC since his retirement in 2008.
Jack started in 2014 as a part-time employee. He attended Lake Area Technical Institute and graduated in 2020 to return
full-time to the KTC Construction crew.
McCall, a Lyman High School student, started as a part-time employee in May 2019.
Jade, a Lyman High School graduate, started part-time in July 2018. He is attending Lake Area Technical Institute and after
graduating plans to return to work full-time with the KTC Construction Crew.

Colton, a Lyman High School student, started as a part-time employee in July 2018.
If KTCI needs help and Lance has time, he serves as part-time employee helping the construction crew.
Carter started in 2015 as a part-time employee. He is attending MTI for his Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (electrical).
Casey started as a part-time auto technician in May 2019. He plans to attend LATI starting the fall of 2019 and coming back to Kennebec to work full-time when he graduates in May 2021.

He attended and graduated from LATI and became full-time at Charley's in May
Dean has worked off and on for KTCI since August 2007. He has mainly held the construction position; however, has worked as a NAPA Specialist as well. He changed from a full-time to part-time employee in April 2012.

Tim is retired, but since 2015 he has helped part-time at KTCI to fulfill ground and maintenance needs.

In 2010, Rosemary started cleaning part-time for KTCI.
Jordan, a Lyman High School student, started part-time in May 2020.
Amy started her job at Charley’s Welding & Auto as a NAPA Auto Care Specialist in February 2017. She now works as a part-time multi-functional assistant.
